Deadpool my new favourite anti hero

If you follow me on social media (and if not why not!) you will know I'm a tiny bit excited about the upcoming film of Deadpool.
I confess that I am a new fan to this wise-cracking super hero, he only came to my attention during the trailers while I was at the new Star Wars movie in December, but I fell in love instantly and have been doing homework.
Homework mainly consists of reading all the comic books about Deadpool I can find (happily my local library stocks them!), finding and reading online articles and chatting about him to my mates.
deadpool comic hero
Of course true research requires properly becoming immersed in a character and it was with this in mind that I asked Morphsuits if I could review one of their suits. If you have never heard of these costumes, they are a simple yet genius concept, a skin tight lycra body suit, encasing you from top to toe! They were initially only available in plain colours but impressive new fabric printing techniques have changed the playing field!

I've seen Morphsuits at festivals of course, usually the plain colours, sometimes a spider man or two, but the Deadpool Morphsuit really did look a bit special. There are three versions at three prices, and I'm now the proud owner of the deluxe version. The basic one is fine of course, but it is , well, basic, at £26 it's pretty affordable, but for a little extra (£10 extra) you get a really snazzily printed muscles that really do give you the appearance of my newly favourite antihero, and the deluxe costume benefits from an extra little treat - an app that shows you with a sword in your hand and some special effects! Pretty cool.

But don't just take my word for it. When the suit arrived my teen daughter was so excited she put it on straight away! And this weekend I tried it on too. I think you'll agree we look...erm...super

Me as Deadpool
Things to know - You need smooth underwear and a strong bladder - there are two zips at the back but it's not an easy task when you are in the suit to undo the zip (you have gloves on!) and you will need to get nearly naked to wee. I advise having a mate with you if you go out! The suits come in 4 sizes and they are based on height as well as weight, which is why DD and I can fit into the same suit! Check the sizing on the page.  You can see through the suit to look out, but it's far from clear! Cosplay websites suggest using a hot needle to make extra holes in the eye area (not when you are wearing the suit, you idiot) for improved vision. I was planning on wearing the suit to the film, but it turns out DD describes the suit as 'empowering' and so she has demanded to wear it - and she'll have to lower the head piece to be able to watch the film properly. (Talking of masks, Morphsuits sell the mask section separately if you fancy just wearing it with your normal clothing) The suit is tight (obviously) and squashes your nose a bit! When I first put it on it felt a bit claustrophobic but that wore off pretty quickly and I got used to it.

So, do I think the Morphsuit is good value? Yes. Would I buy one? Yes in fact I'm spoiled for choice, For festivals this year the plain colours do appeal, but so does the Stormtrooper version (if only there was a Captain Phasma Chrome suited version!) and DD is already looking at another super hero...of the ninja turtle variety!

What do you think? Do you have a Morphsuit or do you 'need' one? Pop over to Facebook or twitter and let me know - I'd love to see your pictures!

Disclosure - I was given the suit for the purposes of this review - but the views are all my own, and DD really will be wearing it to the cinema, more pictures to follow!

The Deadpool movie is released in the UK on 10th February 2016.

What do women REALLY want for Valentines day - a tongue in cheek post

Copyright: pretoperola / 123RF Stock Photo
Valentine's Day is fast approaching like a looming red fog on the horizon. Terrifying the average man who is soon to discover he cannot win on this of all days.

On Valentine's Day, a man in a relationship with a lady has several choices.
He can ignore the entire thing, dismiss it as comercialised and claim he doesn't need a day to tell her he loves her. She will assume he is an uncaring heel or that he forgot and this is a feeble way of weaseling out of the whole thing.
He can buy a card, something cute or funny and that's that. She will think he is cheap, assume he grabbed it without thinking in the supermarket or petrol station and she will tell all her friends how uncaring he is.
He can buy an elaborate gift such as a huge bunch of red roses or a massive box of chocolates, and she will tell him what a waste of money flowers are, especially on Valentine's day, she will also exclaim she is dieting and the chocolates are cruel. She will tell her friends he is predictable and boring.

So what do women actually want? Well I asked a few women that were in relationships what their perfect Valentine's Day gift would be. Instantly and top of the list was time by themselves! I can understand the desire to escape the busy everyday life but I was hoping for something a teensy bit more romantic (chaps, save this information for a birthday gift!). Next most popular was sleep, yes I know, still not terribly romantic, though combined with a man that takes charge of the kids when they wake, gives them breakfast, settles them in front of a 3 hour movie and then takes his snoozing wife breakfast in bed might count...

But the suggestions that seemed most useful were:

  • Unmarried ladies in relationships (such as Emma) seem to hope for diamonds, if you like it, she correctly assumes, you should have put a ring on it.
  • Another popular choice is a spa day, for true romance I guess you'd have to go too, his and hers towels by the pool, joint massages and a cosy canoodle in the hot tub. Several ladies liked that idea.
  • Chocolates were not totally out of favour, but they needed to be quality over quantity, the day of the large padded heart shape box are over it seems.
  • Many ladies feel that having everything done for them is the way to go, baby sitter sorted, table booked and then whisked off in a taxi so you can both have a tipple at a restaurant where the night is spent eating and gazing into each others eyes....just as you did before your life was full of toddlers and snot.
  • Another lovely idea was being told to treat yourself to a new pair of shoes or a new handbag, so many ladies would like this so much more than flowers or chocolates! Even a new dress, why not pluck up the courage to go shopping with her, telling her how sexy she looks in the things she chooses (not looking  at your watch and telling her you are missing the rugby)
  • On the 'time alone together' theme, it wasn't only restaurants and spas that were mentioned, afternoon tea, or even a wander around a town or a walk in the country were suggested. Even a whole night in a hotel - oh to have the freedom for loud sex without the kids hearing.....
  • The idea of a surprise was high on the list too - unusual gifts but ones that might be appreciated, cheese, a new purse, earrings, perfume....but not 'sexy underwear' (the crime of buying what you, the chap, deem sexy, but what is, in reality, cheap, tacky and uncomfortable and really for you anyway...just no) Going with her to buy some Agent Provocateur does not come into the 'no' category obviously...
  • And one odd request was mooted. "I'd really like if he hired a backing group and made up a barbershop style song about me and then performed it on the doorstep. The kind of thing that takes a bit of effort!" ... I'll just leave that there....no one said us women were low maintenance...
Copyright: ventura69 / 123RF Stock Photo

The top result, in all it's varieties, (if we exclude time alone!) was time with you, the man in her life. For you to organise it all so she can be swept off her feet, away from her normal life to an afternoon, evening, or weekend of romantic together time....chaps...you heard it here first..now go get her.Your time, it's what she wants and it's almost (assuming no baby sitting fees) free. No excuse, have fun together.

Huge thanks to the following bloggers for their candid input. Why not check out their blogs on Valentine's Day to see if all their dreams come true.

Everything you've ever needed to know about Deadpool

I'm not  a rabid superhero fan. I like some of the comics and I've watched the odd movie, but they never grabbed me the way Judge Dredd and his ilk did. And then at the new Star Wars screening I saw the trailer for Deadpool. I was hooked. He's the super anti-hero I've been waiting for - why had I never heard of him before?
( You can watch the 'very unsafe for work and not for anyone of a squeamish disposition' here.)
Some people have said I haven't heard of him because the comics lack the humour of the movie, time will tell as I'm going to catch up with the comics before the movie comes out. Until then, here is a rather spiffing info graphic from those chaps at MorphCostumes (who make a simply dashing licenced Marvel version of the Deadpool outfit) so that we can all be up to date and not fail our nerd exam when the movie arrives on out screens on 10th February.

Wordy Wednesday with Greg Jenner

Have I mentioned I'm an author groupie? Well I am and this leads me to stalk follow numerous authors and other clever folk on twitter. Luckily for me most authors are also very happy to chat about their books! And this week the rather super Greg Jenner has agreed to answer some of my silly questions. He's used to silly as he writes Horrible Histories! And so also he's pretty good on the historical fact front, and is well worth a follow on twitter for that!

He also writes history for adults

A Million Years In A Day: A Curious History of Everyday Life is a fun, accessible history of daily life that tracks the evolution of many routines and rituals back to the Stone Age. It's the story of how your life came to be the way it is. Unlike other history books, it's not about kings and queens: it's more about putting on underpants, going to the toilet, walking the dog, and getting drunk with your mates.

So let's quiz Greg!

When did you start writing?
I first dabbled with comedy sketches at university in 2004, but it wasn't until 2008 that I plucked up the courage to try again. I was working as the resident historian on the new series of CBBC's Horrible Histories, and my producer kindly let me have a go at writing a few sketches. It was a steep learning curve, but as the historian I had access to every sketch written by the writing team - about 250 in all - so I learned a huge amount by studying how they constructed their jokes. All the while, I was reading about 200 books per year to research the series, so I was learning the craft of writing through both passive absorption and practical experience. In 2012 I started blogging for the Huffington Post, that did pretty well, and I realised that I wanted to write a book. So, I got an agent, signed a book deal, and sat down to write full-time for 15 months!

What 3 things (not including paper, computer, pens) would you like to facilitate a good days writing?
I am an obsessive Tweeter, so I'd need access to Twitter - it steals a lot of my time, but it also inspires me to be funnier,or more succinct, or more interesting. It's a great testing ground for ideas.

I'm a workaholic, and I have tunnel vision once I start, so I'll easily work for 10 hours without stopping for food or a loo break. That said, a nice pack of biscuits always helps! Oh, and I get terrible backache from not moving, so a stack of comfy cushions. Biscuits, cushions and twitter, those sound like all the essentials I need for blogging too!

Do you write to a schedule, eg every day or three times a week, set times, etc or do you write as and when the mood strikes?
I write every day of the week, though I'll do 10 hours on Monday-Friday and more like 5 or 6 hours on Saturday and Sunday. I've never had writer's block, but I do constantly rewrite and edit stuff. For me, writing is an obsessive duty - I feel guilty if I haven't done at least a 60 hour week. I'm also a perfectionist, which is awkward because I'm not very talented! But I enjoy it, and it was really rewarding to feel my technique improving over those 15 months. I'm hugely proud of the end result, and I'm relieved to see that people seem to like my writing style, so hopefully all the hard work was worth it.

Is writing your main source of income, I read lots of articles saying writers make no money, and my readers asked this question a lot! Can you survive on book writing alone? if not, what else do you do?
I was really lucky to receive a decent advance for my two-book deal, but the money gets spread over 5 years, so it's not quite enough to live on. I probably earn 50% of my income from book writing, 40% from my TV career, and 10% as a freelance writer for magazines. To everyone's surprise, I earn less than almost all of my friends, despite having two outwardly glamorous jobs: being an author and making Horrible Histories. But I love what I do, and it's thrilling to play a small role in helping children and adults fall in love with history. Oh that's such a lovely answer. I agree that seeing people enjoy work you've done is the best feeling! And kids certainly love Horrible Histories.

What are your favourite biscuits?
Chocolate Bourbons or Custard Creams. Either packet will be destroyed into tiny crumbs if left in my vicinity. Or even just in the same house.

Where do you do most of your writing?
I have an office in my garden, but I actually mostly work in the bedroom. I find it a very tranquil room, and it's fun to lie on the bed with a laptop - it feels less formal and contributes to a more playful feeling of experimentation. I imagine it's the cushions too, unless your garden office resembles a seraglio...

What book are you reading at the moment?
There are 14 books by my side at the moment. I'm doing preparatory research for my next book, so I'm just trying to get my head around a new area of historiography. But the book I most recently enjoyed was Andrew Roberts' superb biography of Napoleon, which is a fantastic read. I've probably read 20 books about Napoleon, but this one somehow felt fresh. 14! Now I don't feel so bad about having three books on the go

Do you use social media (facebook, twitter, instagram etc) to engage with your audience, do you think it helps sales and do you find it fun or a chore?
I'm on Twitter because I utterly love it, but obviously the fact I communicate with so many people has really helped me with my book - not just in marketing it, but in actually writing it. The 12 historians who fact-checked A Million Years In A Day are all Twitter contacts, and I'm glad to say I've since become friends with several of them in real life. I also used Twitter to test jokes, express ideas, ask advice, and cheer me up when I was going a bit doolally. Writing a book full time, 7 days per week, can be a lonely experience. Twitter kept me sane! Nice to hear that Twitter can be something other than a time suck!

Do you own an e-reader? and do you prefer to read digital or paper copy?
I do, but I barely use it - it's only for holidays and work travel. I vastly prefer the tangible texture of paper, and I find that I remember so much more when reading is a tactile experience that involves a physical book in my hand.

Do you dream in colour?
I do. Mainly I dream about playing football for Spurs; but being a typical Spurs fan, I very rarely win a match... even my wildest fantasies are drizzled in crushing disappointment.

If reading and writing were banned, what would you do instead?
I would campaign to get them unbanned - there is nothing more sacred than the discovery of new knowledge. Communication is the essence of humanity.

What is your ideal holiday?
A city break to somewhere historic, (why am I not surprised!) preferably a place that boasts loads of museums and Nutella-flavoured ice cream. I adored Florence, that ticked both boxes! My honeymoon to the Riviera Maya in Mexico was also amazing - it was the first time in 10 years my wife had seen me properly relax. It was weird, but a nice weird!

A Million Years in a Day by Greg Jenner is out now!  As of May 14th it's also available in audiobook, if you want to hear him read it...

Thank you to Greg for some excellent answers.

My relationship with food

I would say that food and I are in a committed relationship. As long as I can remember food has been there for me, keeping me alive, sometimes treating me to something nice.

As a child food was a great friend, and like all friends food would sometimes not be fun, there would be greens and porridge and healthy salad. We would row sometimes, I would refuse to have anything to do with food for meals at a time, but we stayed good friends throughout, until I left home at 16 and we got serious. Now food and I could go all the way. Suddenly food and I were into kinky things, ice cream for breakfast, snacking in bed at midnight. Some days I worried that food was going off me, making me spotty because I no longer ate the serious boring things...was our relationship floundering? Could we survive together. I shouldn't have worried, even when I was struggling for cash and living in a bedsit food stayed with me, slightly more boring but still there, we soldiered on. I still wanted food and food still wanted me, we just got together less often.

And of course eventually the initial passionate freedom phase settled down into a comfortable adult relationship. When I got a better job and no longer struggled, food would suggest weekend treats and I'd give in and we'd sit together in a cafe watching the world go by. Sometimes I would bake something sweet and special and over a week food and I would still spend lustful moments together.

Now I'm grown up and food and I are still close. We have a serious and committed relationship, never a day goes by when we don't see each other, but food knows there are boundaries, that my life is not all about food, some days food must take a back seat.

Food blames alcohol, but I think in an open relationship I should be able to see other calories, alcohol and I hook up at weekends, we have a laugh. Usually food is OK with this, sometimes food is there too. And when I feeling really saucy, food, alcohol and I party late into the evening. I know food loves me best though, because alcohol never joins me for breakfast, but food does.

Food and I, committed, in love, a proper relationship.

Love you food xx

see you at tea time.

They're Changing Guard at Buckingham Palace...

They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace -
Christopher Robin went down with Alice.
Alice is marrying one of the guard.
"A soldier's life is terrible hard,"
                                                                    Says Alice.

We went to London on Saturday, as we live on the coast it's up for us, not down, and we are neither called Christopher, nor Alice..I'm not sure where this is going except I recited this poem to DD when we were at Buckingham Palace, I feel if when you see this

and don't recite that perfect poem by A.A. Milne you are wasting everyone's time.

We were not in London to visit the Queen though, nor a little mouse under her chair. We were there to meet up with the simply marvelous totally barking authors that I met up with back in January but this time DD was coming along too.

First I went to John Lewis with £200 worth of vouchers that I'd won online burning the proverbial hole in my pocket. After an hour of um-ing and ahhh-ing and with help from DD I settled on a lovely chiffon dress in black, with a butterfly motif (£105 !! *faints*) and a White Stuff reversible cotton skirt with a bird patterm (£45) I also stocked up on 'my smell' (as DD calls it) Clarins Dynamisante (£32)

Then it was a rush to the pub, to meet for Lunch. We were late of course. We met at the Mayflower, the pub was charming, and after a brief confusion where I was upstairs and alone with Dd and a bottle of wine while everone one else was downstairs, we settled down to chatting about all sorts of odd things, books, food, women, sex, cats, watches...sometimes several from that list at once.

The food was delicious. The waitress put up with our happy mildly tipsy behaviour. No one danced on the table, or got naked, though Andy and Tony downed shots of Tabasco sauce to impress us. We were suitably impressed...and a little bit worried!

All in all the meet up was lovely (well I enjoyed it - I do hope the others did!) DD has declared all authors (but especially Andy Stanton and Anthony McGowan) 'barking' ... after the Tabasco affair I fear she has a point.

Emily, Tony, TM, DD

Sally, Andy and Jane

Later we walked back from the tube via Green Park and Buckingham Palace.

What a super day!

Offensive

I have a mixture of feelings today. I'm not really in the mood to blog because of it but I am anyway because it's my blog and you can't stop me. My mood today is a mixture between sad, annoyed, and apathetic. is there a word for that? Sadanthetic? Whatever.
Image Copyright (c) 123RF Stock Photos
Everything I thought about ranting about today made me think 'someone will be offended and then they will kick off a rant and a hideous flame war will start and most of what I rant about I don't really care that much about anyway so why offend people, and who decides whose opinions are right?

Who decides if a joke is 'OK'? is it funny? is it offensive?

Oh it's obvious you all cry offensive is easy, a pregnant nun fancy dress costume is offensive, a picture of a dog smoking a cigarette is offensive, a dead animal is offensive.

And then others say "oh no it's not, the nun thing is pretty funny actually" and they make up a joke about beagles and nicotine patches ... and comedians tell us nothing is beyond humour, we should be able to laugh at anything, nothing should be truly 'offensive' it's just words and you can choose how to react see I'm rambling, are you offended?

Offended that I'm not offended by what you are offended by? Or offended that I am offended by something you deem funny? Once I wrote a post about being offended by breastfeeding in public. Maybe jokes are like that? it's ok to be offended but you have to uphold the right of others to make an offensive joke? What do you think?

"free speech has long been recognised as a common law right in Britain, it also has a statutory basis in Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights (the "Convention"), which has been incorporated into UK law by the Human Rights Act 1998."

Getting Fruity!

A fortnight ago (that's 2 weeks for my American readers) my Darling Daughter asked me to buy starfruit. She had had some once, long ago at school when they had a 'tasting day' and had liked it. I also like starfruit, so I bought one.

For those not in the know, it looks like this

and once sliced it is obvious why it is so named

I described it as tasting like a cross between an apple and a lemon, but the one
I had was a little green :-). Any way the starfruit came home, was sliced, and DD took a tentative nibble before declaring, "I don't really like it, it wasn't like this at school". So I ate the starfruit.

This week she requested I buy a pomegranate. "Do you really like them?" I asked, "Yes, I love them, we should have them all the time!" "OK"
So I bought a pomegranate and presented it at breakfast

DD "what's that?"
Me "A Pomegranate"
DD "oh, OK"

I opened the pomegranate, i lovingly separated the pearls of ruby delights (stolen phrase from twitter)  and gave her some in a bowl. A tentative nibble, some mumbles, some discussion of if eating seeds would kill us. Finally........

Me "you didn't mean pomegranate did you? this isn't what you were expecting?"
DD "nope"
Me "what were you expecting?"
DD "a round purple thing, when you cut it, it's orange inside and squishy with black seeds that you spit out"
Me "ah"
Quick trip to Twitter to ask

Turns out she meant Passion Fruit!

So today I am eating pomegranate.
Who knows, soon I may be eating passion fruit.

The Totally Truthful Memetastic Award

It appears I have been tagged. By someone I thought was a friend, now I wonder.....

thanks Julie although maybe she's not entirely to blame, after all, she was tagged by  Jillsmo

with this silly meme

and here are the rules

1. You must proudly display the absolutely disgusting graphic that I have created for these purposes (put it in your post, you don’t have to put it in your sidebar, I think that would seriously be asking too much). It’s so bad that not only did I use COMIC SANS, but there’s even a little jumping, celebrating kitten down there at the bottom. It’s horrifying! But its presence in your award celebration is crucial to the memetastic process we’re creating here. If you need a higher resolution version… I totally have one!!
2. You must list 5 things about yourself, and 4 of them must be bold-faced lies. Just make some shit up, we’ll never know; one of them has to be true, though. Of course, nobody will ever know the difference, so we’re just on the honor system here. I trust you. Except for the 4 that you lied about, you lying bastards! But don’t go crazy trying to think of stuff.
3. You must pass this award on to 5 bloggers that you either like or don’t like or don’t really have much of an opinion about. I don’t care who you pick, and nobody needs to know why. I mean, you can give a reason if you want, but I don’t really care.”

so with out further ado, have a guess
  1. I once came home from a 'vicars and tarts' party on the tube and was propositioned by someone who thought I was a prostitute.
  2. I am really a man, but I blog and tweet as a woman because it's easier and more acceptable to make friends that way. The photos I post are my wife, and our daughter.
  3. I'm allergic to carnations.
  4. I was once caught having sex with my boyfriend in some woods, by an old man walking his dog.
  5. I was a competitor on the Chris Moyles Show's phone in game 'Car Park Catchphrase' but I didn't win.
so now I can tag...and I tag

Mamacrow   cos I love her

Camping in the Spring or Summer

We had a chat on twitter (which rapidly got out of control as these things do!) about a few of us getting together for a camping trip. Maybe in the spring or the summer holidays for a weekend or even longer. As my daughter is at school it needs to be holiday time. I suggested The Camping and Caravanning Club site at Norman's Bay, Pevensey and this idea met with approval from the people I hoped it would. While the idea of a 'twentup' took off across twitter I held firm to my ideals of a few of us having a wee get together with kids, beer and wine, and maybe a sausage or two.

If you need more info contact me via my contact page. (Contactify Link here)  Would be nice to actually make this happen.

And if you can't come to this event but see folk near you on the '#twentup' tag - let them know you are keen and organise more camping trips, you can't have too many tenting trips!

Meet up at Norman's Bay - anytime during this Big Pitch Week!!

How secret is your Santa?

Do you have a Secret Santa (aka Brantub) at your place of work? and if so how does it work? I'm really interested to know! (this is a cheat post really because I need you to comment to make it work!)

Do you all draw names from a hat? Do you keep it a 'cut me throat' secret? or is it more of an 'open secret'? or even no secret at all! Do you tell at the point the person opens the gift? or maybe let them wonder and only let the info slip out over time using clues? Maybe you never ever tell.

I've played in many secret Santas and I'll be doing it again this year. Some times I pick the name of a person I really like and then it's hard to keep it a secret, i can't discuss with them what I plan to buy of course, but also it's hard to pretend on the day, if they love the gift i long to shout 'me me it was from me!!' but what if they hate it? or look confused? I want to explain why I chose it or apologise, or maybe hope they never guess it was from me!

But what when you get a name of someone you barely know? To be jokey? or just fall back on chocolates or bath salts!

When I get a gift I'm nervous, what if it's really 'personal' like underwear! Was it from a guy? or a girl that knows me? was it a secret admirer as well as a secret Santa? or the office perv? or my manager! or someone who just knows I'll sweat over who it was from!?

One year I received a mouse mat (I work in IT) with a moulded 'gentlemans parts' on the front that when pressed uttered groans of pleasure. The gift was very 'me'. Rude, funny, clever. But I never found out for sure who it was from, some suggested that it was a young guy that I rather liked at the time, but others that it wasn't. I guess I'll never know!

I once sent saucy underwear to a woman knowing she would think it was from the guy at work that she fancied (he DID NOT fancy her) and she moped about him for weeks after until I told HIM that it was from me, I'm lucky to have escaped with my life I reckon.

What are your best and worst gifts from secret Santa's, both given and received. And do you like Secret Santa? Do you always join in? or sit out with a humbug......

I'm a Twitterholic - don't judge me

When did you join twitter? (You can find the exact date at bwitterday.com)
I had an account for 6 months or so, which I deleted when hubby said I was addicted. He told me to create a new one when I was so grumpy without twitter! This account was started
September 22, 2009

Why did you join twitter?
I didn't want to, it sounded awful and I loved facebook (which I have now deleted! oh fickle online person I am) but Stephen Fry seemed to rate it so I joined to see what it was like.

Who is/was your oldest follower? Who did you follow first? Tell me all about them. (firstfivefollowers.com will give you this info)

The First person I followed was Stephen Fry

My first 5 followers on the new account (so they must have missed me!) were: @saraheadworth @StoatsJackson @ti_bo @LivingWithCMT @JasonBradbury.

Stoats is a lovely cuddly funny guy well worth a follow :-) I have a crush on Jason Bradbury, Ti_bo is a cutie of the nefarious type, the CMT account is a hereditary condition I have too, we share symptoms :-) Sarah is a nice relatively normal person haha

Do you have any celebrities following you or have you ever had a DM from a celeb?

not DMs but lots of @replies (depending on your idea of celebrity I guess!) I've had tweets from Graham Lineham, Alexsander(The Meerkat) , Paul Daniels,  Stephen Fry, Chris Moyles, and I chat fairly regularly with  Jason Bradbury, Andy Stanton, Matt Kirshen I tend to star them, so check my favourites.

If you could follow anyone who is not on Twitter – alive or dead, real or fictional – on Twitter, who would it be?

would be good to follow a blog of someone really real but also who is secretive in real life or who no one knows much about, God would be great though! But I bet he'd tweet fast

Which came first Twitter or the Blog?

The blog. No readers, but the blog.

Virginity - Poor Joseph

Apparently people, Christian people, have been offended by this. I am a Chrsitian and I thought it was funny! I am not a believer in the continued virginity of Mary, seriously Joseph took on a lot with a kid that wasn't his, but taking on a young woman and no sex? oh come on! (or not!) so I think this is both funny and probably scarily accurate! Poor Joseph.

she's at it again, only 9 but asking the world's best questions and coming out with the most hilarious sayings.

Yesterday's classic was as follows (in response to seeing me wearing blue pants/knickers)

DD "I like those pants"
Me "Thanks"
DD " because they are not PINK!" (she hates girly things)
Me "Oh! well you know how it is, people seem to think if you are a girl you love pink, most packs of ladies knickers have a pink pair"
DD "Well you could buy men's pants" (pause, she thinks then says)
"Oh no, you can't wear mens pants - they have a WINKY SOCKET!"

cue gales of laughter from us both

our favourite insult this week is now "You Winky Socket!" try saying it next time you are annoyed at someone - it's very liberating.
